The Difference You’ll Make

As a Volunteer Buddy, you’ll be more than just a volunteer, you’ll be a friend, a listener, and a positive presence in someone’s life.

You’ll help reduce loneliness, build confidence, and encourage independence in the people you support. Your time, energy, and compassion can bring joy, reassurance, and a sense of belonging to those who need it most.

Even a few hours a week can have a powerful impact, for the person you’re helping and for you too. Many of our volunteers say the experience gives them a renewed sense of purpose, personal growth, and lifelong friendships.

Safeguarding and Checks

Because we care deeply about the wellbeing of everyone involved, all Volunteer Buddies must complete an Enhanced DBS check before starting.
This ensures a safe and supportive environment for both our volunteers and the people we work with. Don’t worry — our team will guide you through the process and cover any questions you might have.

Getting Started

Before you begin your volunteering journey, you’ll need to:

  • Complete our volunteer registration form, so we can learn about your skills, interests, and availability.

  • Provide references, to help us understand your background and suitability for the role.
